Of Gods and Other Deities
I Greater Gods
Gaenor Fate Goddess of Portent (Chaotic Neutral) One of the Fate Deities, she is also the Halfling Goddess of Mischief, Change, Rogues and Changelings. Gaenor is a fickle, utterly unpredictable god who can change her appearance at will. Her symbol is a coin with coffee bean on, or stamped on it.
Worshipers Besides halflings, Gaenor is also worshiped by some pixies, leprechauns, brownies, sprites and other fey.
Clergy Gaenor's clerics dress in black leather armor with leather caps, and never worship her in the same place twice.
Holy days and rituals Gaenor's holy days are on the eclipses, and her faithful sacrifice stolen treasures to her whenever they feel it is appropriate.
Sonne God of the Sun (Lawful Good) Known as Pelor in other realms, he is the deity worshiped by most of the inhabitants of Saepoueria.
Worshipers Sonne is a popular deity, much-beloved by the common folk. He is also the patron deity of Arcsuncot. Although Sonne church has a few heresies and schisms, the head priests of his powerful temples are in contact with one another and with the religion’s overall leadership. If the secular leaders of one nation place an onerous tax on Pelor’s temples, word will spread through Sonne’s hierarchy. Other nations might be persuaded by their Pelorians to apply diplomatic pressure to get the tax repealed.
Clergy Sonne's clergy heal the sick, bless crops, help the needy, and destroy evil and the undead. They are caring and nurturing, with backbones of steel. The Sonian priesthood attracts many naive youths to his service, but training is rigorous enough to send many of them back to their farms. Sonne's elite priests are called Radiant Servants whos vestments are yellow or gold.
Holy days and rituals Sonne's major holy days generally take place on the solstices and equinoxes of the Common Calendar, such as Midsummer's Day - also known as the Holy Day of Sonne, takes place on Richfest 4, the day of the Summer Solstice.
Temples Sonne's temples are tall, with large windows; many are stained-glass cathedrals. They are arranged so that the sun shines into most of the rooms during the day, and many feature large courtyards. They tend to be airy and blindingly white. Temple trappings are typically yellow or gold. They are always kept clean. Many Sonian temples have hospital wings.

III Demigods
Schuyler Fate Deity of Adumbration (Neutral Good) Schuyler roamed the North as a mortal ranger many centuries ago. He was raised to demigod status by Gaenor after slaying an assassin of Vhaeraun sent to kill her mortal form. He has stood by The Morning Trickster's side ever since. His symbol is a glass arrowhead pointed up.
Worshipers As a deity of tracking and good luck, he is beheld by rangers, rogues and a few shamans. They usually have a stone arrowhead that they've carved out of natural glass.
Clergy Schuyler doesn't have his own clergy but is worshiped alongside his mischievous patroness as a saint.
Holy days and rituals Considered a saint by The Mischief's faithful, Schuyler is worshiped by burying a handmade glass arrow head with the tip pointing north.

Locales The world of Traer is divided into 2 continents, Saepoueria to the north and Cafari to the south. There are hints of a third continent but none of the expeditions have returned to confirm its existence nor can the mages pierce the veil that blocks any non-physical venture.
I Cafari
II Saepoueria Pronounced Say-pehr-ya, Saepoueria is massive continent north of Cafari easily and thrice its size. It is divided into 6 major empires; 3 of them in the western third and part of the central third of the continent, one in most of the central third and the remaining two on the eastern third. Along with many territories and a handful of independent states.
Empires Alemmania The largest and the most powerful of the 6 major empires, Alemmanian Empire has been around since AR 1500 and was last re-established on AP 1398. It is rumored that nobility of Alemmania are descendants of the Rendoreans who established outposts south of their realm.
Bretania The newest of the major empires, Bretania was founded by the descendants of the last known Breton tribe after returning from the Rendorean Wastes on SAS 280
Nippon
Rodin State of Kievo was established by the Vengarian chieftain Rod in AR 3524 - the traditional beginning of the Rodinian History. In AR 3624, almost to the day of his grandfather's founding of the fallen Kievo, Kapsirko founded the State of Sowcom. By AR 3650, Sowcom had become the Empire of Rodin (named in honor of Rod) and Sowcom became its capital.
Sellais On AP 1300, Sellais was established by four of the larger tribes of Jancoise. As with the Alemannians and the Rodinians, the Sellesian Empire has been re-established multiple times - most recently on AP 1530.
Xingxia
Independent States Kingdom of Bharat Bharat
Grekan States Greka
Iberican Kingdoms Iberica is a collection of kingdoms that are constantly at each other's throats but whenever a outside power attempts to intervene, the kingdoms unite to repel any an all attempts. When the threat leaves, they return to their infighting. Four times in its history where a king became powerful enough to unite the others for a significant duration, only to recede when he or she died.
Parsian Collective Just west of Bharat, Parsa is what remains of a once mighty empire that was founded in AP 2480
State of Romana The State of Romana is what's left of the Romanian Empire. It's citizens are descendants of 3 armies that holed up in their capital.

History
I Calendars
Common Calendar The Common Calendar is a 7 day week. The days are: Sunday, Mansday, Marksday, Wainsday, Lassday, Kingsday, Godsday. The months of the year are similar in name to the current Gregorian calendar, but with a few minor differences. The names are: Jonaver, Frayaver, Marches, Aprel, Mayven, Jelos, Septander, Octander, Novander, Disander, Grimander and Noctaver. Note that "Septander" is equivalent to July, and the following three months are similarly two months behind their Gregorian equivalents. The numbers of days per month are the same as the Gregorian calendar. There are 52 weeks in the year, with normal season names. Every other year would have to be a leap year to accommodate the extra day. The shorter years are called fell-years, and the longer years are full-years. As in the Gregorian calendar, the extra day falls in Frayaver. The standard format of dates is Year:Month:Day Age eg 130:05:16 TR
Sylvan The elves (and half-elves who live among them) observe a 6 day week, with 61 weeks in the year. The elven calendar has eight seasons: Thimblewinter, Thawling, Spring, Summer, High-summer, Autumn, Thindusk, and Winter. There are 8 weeks in the main seasons, and seven weeks all the "mid-seasons". There is an extra week that moves to a different season every six years.
Karut The dwarves, being a race that lives for long periods, sometimes entire generations, without seeing the sun, have developed a system of time called the Karut. A Karut is a traditional candle or lamp made to burn for exactly eight and a half hours. This time is broken down into smaller units, measured by a dwarven hourglass called a knut (literally: finger). There are ten knut-ku in a knut, and five knuts in a Karut. Three Karuts make up a Dwarven "day." Traditionally, the dwarves have some concepts of the seasons, but pay them little heed, only noting when the entrances to the mines are colder or warmer. The dwarven week is ten days long, and the year is 60 weeks long. High dwarven holidays take place three times a year, or every twenty weeks. In recent ages, some dwarf clans have informally adopted the human Common Calendar, and many now use gnomish clockwork to measure time.
II The Ages The Common Calendar is the reordering of the dates because of the chaos of the previous Ages. It was such, that on certain Ages, days and months were not bothered to be named by the general populace and each faction had its own calendar and dating system. The Ages were named mostly during the years of The Renaissance. When dating the previous Ages, it is formatted as Age Year:Day eg AS 256:293 The Fall of King Brennor
The only deviance from this format are the dates prior to the Age of Reckoning. There is little written information from this period and the historians have deemed it best to format the years with sequentially increasing distance from the Age or Reckoning. ie Enlightenment of Lesser Man 1800PAR comes after the Rendorean Settling 1930PAR
Prior Age of Reckoning It is estimated that there is at least 20000 years of recorded history from the recovered documents excavated at various Rendorean ruins.
- Unknown Empire circa 13000PAR According to the some of the artifacts, they were farming as community among the other hunter gatherers as early as 17000PAR. They soon assimilated the other clans and grew to an actual civilization by around 14000PAR. It is said that this is when Sonne favored the young race and gifted them with long years. It is purported that the average age was anywhere between 250 and 300 years, with some making it to 500 years of age.
- Rendorean Empire circa 6000PAR - Rendorean scouting of the Northern Lands circa 2000PAR - Arrival of the Rendoreans circa 2000PAR - Rendorean Settling of the Northern Lands 1930PAR - Enlightenment of Lesser Man 1800PAR - Disappearance of the Rendorian Empire 30PAR Through this assimilation, their eye color takes on from the other parent's. Even with the dilution of Rend lineages, they still have lifespans at least twice a normal human's. Another way a person of Rend descent could be determined is by by their eye color during specific events.
Two of these events occur daily; the twilight of dawn and dusk. The decreased amount of sunlight allows the gold to glow through the iris, regardless of the original color.
Another of these events is a solar eclipse. In the event of this astral phenomena, the descendant's, under the umbra, eyes glow a much brighter gold than during twilight.
On such occasions, older Rendoreans or those with purer bloodlines have red flecks on the cornea when viewed from an angle a bit off center.
There are a few rumored to have seen golden eyes with red flecks in broad daylight.
Age of Reckoning [3954 years] The Age of Reckoning was agreed upon by the scholars of Arcsuncot as the Rise of Man - a time when Man was given the opportunity to rise from the ashes of Rendorean Empire.
AR 1-1500 - Tho'h Unearthed AR 18:39 After half a century of searching, expeditionary teams locate the border city of Tho'h buried under twenty feet of sand with most of the structures magically sealed. When the attached mages unlocked the spells, they were surprised to see the contents as fresh as if no time passed at all. By AR 23, the entire city - along with the outlying suburbs were excavated.
AR 1500-3500 - Azbarrel's Looking Glass AR 1835 Though most of the Rend Glass techniques have been lost, lesser man has found ways to mimic the effects thanks to his ingenuity.
AR 3500-3954 - Dellon's Ore is Discovered AR 3880 Dellon's Ore was discovered by Torrim Dellon in Tertonn Mine, circa AR 3880. The external appearance of this curious species of galena is well known wherever mineralogy has been studied. At the time of writing, good specimens of it are extremely rare, and can only be found within the cabinets of the most astute alchemists or oldest Dwarves, sorcerers and wizards. In those mines where it had most prevailed, it exhibited little variety, either in form or character. An upright pillar of limestone-rock, intermixed with calcareous spar, contains the exploding ore; the surface is thinly coated over with lead, which resembles a covering of graphite, and it is extremely smooth, bright, and even. The effects of this extraordinary mineral are not less singular than terrific. A blow with a hammer, a stroke or a scratch with a miner's pick, are sufficient to rend the rocks asunder with which it is united. The stroke is immediately succeeded by a crackling noise, accompanied with a sound not unlike the hum of a swarm of bees; shortly afterwards an explosion follows, so loud and appalling, that even the Dwarves, though a hardy and daring race, turn pale and tremble at the shock.
Age of Strife [839 years] Years collectively known as the Age of Strife, was the aftermath of the Autiar Amin Brush Fire Wars
AS 1-500
AR 500-839 - Tertonn Mine Collapse AS 853 An explosion took place in the Tertonn Mine around AS 853:217, when two hundred and fifty barrels - each containing 500 pounds of Dellon's Ore, detonated all at once. This effectively destroyed the one major source of Dellon's Ore in it's purest and highest quality. During the explosion, the earth had a tremulous motion, as if shook by an earthquake. There are many speculations as to the cause of the incident.

II Historical Battles
Age of Reckoning - Amasolian Brush Fire Wars AR 3916
Age of Strife - Battle at the Bloody River AS 19 So named due to the color of water of the Wise Key River turning red with blood. The battle was fought between a golem expeditionary force of 495 Golems (250 Clay, 183 Stone, 60 Iron, 2 Adamantine) as well as 17 Battle Mages, 50 Archers 6 Rangers and 4 Stone Grunts led by Mirrott, and an estimated 15,000–18,000 defenders in the fort outpost on an overlooking hill on the northern bank of the Wise Key River on AS 19:180.
Led by two of the Stone Grunts with orders to engage with extreme prejudice, the iron golems were sent in to engage the massed army formed up in the northern side of the fort with the clay golems close behind.
With majority of the outer army dead, the rest fleeing into the fort; the assaulting force tore through the stone and earthwork defenses and continued the engagement within the fort with orders to push the remaining defenders through the southern gate of the fort.
All but 20 stone golems and both Adamantine golems were positioned on the south side of the river under cover of trees led by the remaining Stone Grunts. Seven of the battle mages and twenty of the archers were sent along for support.
As soon as fort defenders routed and ran south, the waiting second force broke cover and engaged the retreating forces. Casualties amounted to at least eight thousand defenders dead, including three princes. Expeditionary casualties include all of the Clay golems, 158 Stone, 38 Iron and minor injuries including Mirrott himself and an archer who was lightly singed when a battle mage dodged just as she released a fireball.
