What would heathen from this backwards planet know of proper decorum? The GRS format of YMD is the proper way of dating events. It's much more efficient, and allows one to accurately synchronize events.
The current date is 35:??:??. It has been a year since we've crash landed on this uncivilized and infernal arse of a planet.
Posh... why am I even talking to an indigent? You probably don't understand a word I'm saying.
Where's that liaison? She's learned that uncouth jabber you call speech... Trooper Sallad?

Is this thing up? <voice in the back ground> Should be. Never did like these recorders. <voice in the back ground> Hey, be happy that some of our tech even survived. So? manic’s not happy with those Verps not making it and this shithole of a planet is still dependent on fossil fuel. <voice in the back ground> Just start talking…
Umm… where do I begin this whimsical tale of… <unintelligible voice in the back ground> We were ordered to investigate an Essdee; one ISD Vector. Apparently, she was a modified as a testing platform for one of Lord Vader’s… WHAT? Look, those spooks can edit the frack out of these so I’m gonna say what I… Fine… <voice in the back ground> They already have info on the Blackwing. I’m sure they’d rather hear about the local fauna. Besides, we already have mission logs from that infernal place. Do what manic did… Start from when you landed. Whatever. I got one better…
TX 3303, TK 4024 and I were on our way to some escape pods making sure the path was relatively clear when we heard a garbled transmission from Fi. That would be TD 5342, manic’s heavy. After ending their discussion, manic told Tree and I go on ahead mentioning something about Ten, finding some interesting information.
We continue our search making sure that vents are sealed and all room doors are marked with a small strip of flimsy hanging on a limo cord. If anyone sees the flimsy on the floor, they know to shut and lock the door. It’s a simple idea, really. It came fr… <voice in the back ground>That’s already in the report the sergeants filed. COULD YOU QUIT BUTTING IN? Frell, am I the only one who knows how to tell a story? I’ve heard your account, Tea. DRY. <voice designated: Tea> You’re not the only one who has to make a recording, you know? Just continue…
After manic made his way back the corridor, Dakk and Tree continue their rounds making sure that the vents are sealed and the doors are marked. They were about half of the way through when a new transmission held them fast. There was blaster fire in the background. “This is Lieutenant Bel, the creatures have broken through.” He began. “Everyone, get to a pod and ba...” Dakk and Tree look at each other for a moment.

Hey V! There's a yellow light blinking here. <voice designated: V> Should be fine. Tea already programmed that to your recording specs. My what? <V:>Just start already! Schutta... Tea was right. You ARE a talker. Hey... Hey... <V:>WHAT? Any word from your sister? Hey... [transcript records 20 seconds of silence: Pending deletion per CO's order] <V:>Haven't heard from Outpost 3 since they got overran. That was six months ago. <V:> I know... Hey... I have my own recording. This one's yours... Go ahead. What do I talk about? <V:> Hmm... Remember that trooper we pulled from Bulkhead 24? Dusty? <V:> Yeah, that one... though if I remember properly, he wanted to punch your face in for calling him that. So? It stuck, didn't it? Think of it as a term of endearment [laughter] Now THAT was a crazy bastard. Shoulder armor torn off by a zed that got past one of the barricades, he stuffed his holdout in it's gaping maw...
By the time Dakk and Tree made it back to the main barricade, the undead had almost broken through. They quickly moved in to support the flanks with precise fire that is the standard of a storm commando. Without warning, one of the monstrosities reached out and grabbed one of the troopers. Only his quick reflexes saved him. He was able to unlatch his right shoulder bell, draw his holdout, stuff it into the zombie's gaping maw and fried it's brains.
During a lull in the battle, Dakk walked up to the crazed looking trooper. Looking up this trooper's designation, He asks "So, Tee-Kay Sixty-seven Ten... Got a name?" "Dustman" he replied "Who're you?" "Dusty, huh?" he teased "Welcome to the Five-Oh-First!" But he wasn't able to complete his sentence. A white gauntlet flew to his face.
